The Umstead Spa Customized Massage

A combination of long, firm strokes; kneading strokes; and small circles. After a brief conversation concerning your needs, your therapist can assist you with selecting a modality that may be incorporated into your massage. (Note: This massage uses stones only as an aid to the massage. It is not the same as the “Rock-On” Massage, which uses stones throughout the massage.)
Deep Tissue Massage

Recommended for those who receive a massage on a regular basis and prefer a treatment with more physical emphasis. Focused on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, this massage is both corrective and therapeutic in breaking down the knots and aiding in recovery. Chronic patterns of tension are released through slow strokes and deep finger pressure.
Aromatherapy Massage

Combining the sense of smell with the sense of touch, this ancient therapy uses natural formulas of pure plant essences and jojoba oil. Let the therapeutic properties of plants combined with the healing value of touch improve your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Rock-On Massage

Enjoy the deep, penetrating energy and therapy of heated stones gliding along strategic points of the body in this highly relaxing and grounding massage. While the warmth brings relief to feelings of stress and eases tense muscles, our skilled therapists combine Swedish massage techniques using warm stones as a massage tool to stimulate circulation and deep muscle work. This creative massage will not only take your body and senses to a deep level of relaxation, it will promote a feeling of holistic well-being.

Sports Massage

Concentrating on specific areas of the body, this treatment increases flexibility for those muscle groups directly related to certain sports. It will also prepare you for a one-on-one training session and helps speed muscle recovery after vigorous exercise.
Mother-to-Be Massage

This is the perfect massage treatment for the expectant mother, designed to relieve tension and stress put on a mother’s body during pregnancy. Diminished hip and back pain and improved circulation are just a few of the amazing benefits of this massage. (Note: This treatment can only be performed in the second and third trimesters and is not recommended for those experiencing a high-risk pregnancy.)
Tassage for Two
