Exfoliations
Our exfoliations are designed to cleanse and moisturize your
skin, thus improving its texture and tone. Our signature products, created especially for The Umstead Spa, are blended with the relaxing properties of lavender and chamomile, and include the skin enhancing benefits of grapefruit and bitter orange.
Body Glow - 50 minutes $105
Your body will be exfoliated with a rich blend of sea salt and Umstead Bath and Body Gel, after which our luxurious Umstead Body Butter will be applied leaving your skin ‘baby soft’ and refreshed. (Note: Not recommended for anyone who has a sunburn or very delicate skin. Ladies should not shave their legs on the day they receive this service. An alternate to this treatment would be the Body Polish.)
Body Polish - 50 minutes $105
Gentler than the Body Glo, however equally effective, we replace the sea salt with the Umstead Body Polish, containing a blend of light aromatic cream and exfoliating beads. Our chamomile and green tea Umstead Body Butter completes this experience. (Available Monday-Thursday Only)
Babassu Sugar Scrub - 50 minutes $105
This sugar scrub is a stimulating 100% organic experience combining aromatherapy with exfoliating and moisturizing products. Your body is gently scrubbed with a combination
of raw organic sugar and oil from the Babassu Palm. The unique properties of this oil and the sugar intertwine to create a powerful yet gentle experience leaving your skin smooth
and glowing.
Soothing Soak - 50 minutes $105
As an alternative to the localized massage following the exfoliation treatments, you may choose one of three luxurious bath options in our jet hydrotherapy tub — milk, mineral or
aromatherapy.
The Umstead Signature Body Ritual - 75 minutes $130
Melt away the stresses of the hectic outside world with this signature treatment. Enjoy a body exfoliation with our Umstead Body Polish and a cascading rinse from the overhead Vichy Shower. Our nourishing Umstead Body Butter is gently applied to your body with long, flowing massage strokes for complete coverage and absorption. Relax while you are draped in sheets misted with our signature Umstead linen Mist and your therapist performs a soothing head, neck and shoulder massage. (Available Monday-Thursday Only)
Body Masks
Body masks detoxify, hydrate and rejuvenate your body. After the products have a chance to penetrate, you will be rinsed with a specialty shower followed by the application of a moisturizing lotion or hydrating mist.
Moisturizing Buttermilk and Honey Wrap - 75 minutes $130
Experience unbelievable skin hydration. A full body exfoliation with Babassu sugar scrub begins this highly nourishing treatment. Next, you are drenched in a warm masque of buttermilk, honey and a secret moisturizing ingredient that will satisfy even the driest skin. While your skin absorbs the nutrients, you will receive a scalp and face massage to help you unwind into a calm relaxed state.
Red Flower Japanese Ritual
This ritual is founded on the principle of stimulating blood flow through the body by blending layers of exceptional ingredients and pure scents deeply into the skin. Your journey begins with the use of Ginger Grass Bamboo Scrub to exfoliate, energize and firm the body. Next, the body is cleansed with Mimosa Sea Algae Wash after which Plum Soft Water Mist is used to nourish and soften the skin. This extraordinary ritual concludes with a massage of Kinmoxei Silk Oil used to warm the body . A Hinoki Mint Mineral Bath may be added to this treatment.

Red Flower Hammam Ritual
This ritual is based on the skin care practices of the Hammam bath houses, tracing its roots back to the ancient Roman Thermae. This ritual uses rich essential oils, and begins with an exfoliation of Lemon Coffee Blossom Scrub. Next, the body is cocooned in warm white clay which cleanses and detoxifies the skin. Rich aromas of Moroccan Mint Tea and Orange Quince Mist abound. This ritual concludes with a massage of Cardamom Amber Oil used to warm and relax the body. This ritual can also include a Neroli Cypress Bath.
